100 years later...
bring back to life the spirit of Champagne Charles Coquet

In 1883 my great grandfather, Charles Coquet, was born. After inheriting his father’s land, he cultivated vines on the slopes of the Montagne de Reims in the beginning of the 20th century. As often happened at the time, most of his wines were sold to the major Champagne “négociant” trading houses. It was in the 1920s that he decided to market his champagnes under his own name. Very quickly, the quality of his wines and his work were awarded during regional competitions. Numerous award diplomas found in his archives attest to such recognition by his peers. His fame and his clientele expanded until the 1960s, before the brand died out with his death.
The end of his winemaking, however, did not mark the end of his vineyards. After Charles Coquet’s death his vines were preserved and passed down through
generations.
100 years after the creation of the brand, I decided to revive the spirit of Champagne Charles Coquet.
Drawing on 20 years of experience aquired from working at my in-law’s family winery, in 2020, I relaunched Charles Coquet’s production, wishing to both continue my family’s vigneron heritage and write a new page in the brand’s history.

Born at the dawn of the Roaring Twenties, in the midst of an artistic and cultural whirlwind, Champagne Charles Coquet embraces the elegant aesthetic that defined this decade of lightness and creativity. Under the signature of Charles Coquet, the champagnes reveal a refined, delicate, and subtle style. The selection of the finest terroirs, combined with expertly mastered savoir-faire, ensures the excellence of our cuvées.
The winemaking methods and technical precision remain deliberately discreet, allowing the pure pleasure of tasting, sharing, and celebration to take center stage. Thus, the dandy spirit of Charles Coquet lives on today, driven by the desire to rekindle the carefree elegance and joie de vivre that defined the Roaring Twenties.

The vineyards inherited from Charles Coquet were integrated with the vineyards of my in-laws.
Located in the heart of the Montagne de Reims, the plots are spread over several villages classified in Grand Cru (French for ‘great growth’) Louvois, Bouzy, Ambonnay, 3 great terroirs recognized as the most qualitative ones of the Champagne wine region.
We practice environmentally responsible viticulture guided by a common sense approach, and uphold both preservation and sustainability principles. Therefore, in order to meet a natural balance, the family vineyard does not use herbicides, nor chemical fertilizers.
